The stack, top to bottom: a Transition is one legacy-to-successor initiative owned by a single Snapshot Analyst, moving through the five lifecycle phases; it typically has one Schema but may have several if the source system holds multiple distinct record types worth preserving separately. A Schema defines a record type — fields, sections, screen captures, Panoscrolls, reports, attachments, capture rules, and the Preamble content for each section. A Snapshot is one instance of a Schema: a single captured record, with the actual artifacts attached. A Layout is a presentation template controlling section ordering, branding, pagination, narrative text, conditional sections, and artifact placement. A Document is the rendered deliverable — a PDF plus JSON metadata — produced by applying a Layout to a Snapshot. The relationships are application, not containment: schemas define, snapshots instantiate, layouts apply, documents are output.
